Before he came to Žilina, Paukovček had been coaching MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš, but was forced to leave in the middle of the season for similar reasons. He had also worked with the clubs in Martin and Poprad.

Žilina occupies the bottom of TL´s rankings. In 26 games, it was able to score only 23 points. Žilina would need at least 8 points to catch up with the newbees from Hungary – MAC Budapest and Miškovec, the latter sitting on the 11th position. However, it is most unlikely for Žilina is on a losing streak – 6 losses in a row.
